Before you enter into a home there is a door mat at the front of the door. The purpose of the mat is for those entering the home to clean off their shoes and not track any dirt or trash into the home and mess up the floor or their carpet. A door mat can also mean a submissive person who allows others to dominate them. Many women in our society today are living in fear, afraid to take control of their lives and refuse to be someone’s door mat. You can become a door mat to your spouse, boyfriend, children, and others.
Women of God it is time to get some back bone and refuse to be trampled on, kicked around and abused by those who say they love you. Have you ever taking the time to evaluate why you allow yourself to be taken advantage of? Could it possibly be, you have low self-esteem, lack of self-worth or maybe you just don’t know how to come out of this horrific cycle? I know because it was once a hard place for me.
God never intended for you to be less than what he created you to be. He sees you as his princess, beautiful and He loves his daughters. You are so special in the eyes of God. It is time for you to see yourself as God sees you. When you begin to have a clear vision of who you are, based on who Jesus is, you will not allow others to treat you like a door mat, trample on you and kick you around. Deliverance is always available through the power of God.
If you don’t know how or where to begin start with prayer, let go of your pride and reach out to someone who can help you. Counseling helps. It was a turning point for me when I decided to seek professional counseling through a license Christian counselor. And because of her wisdom the chain of bondage was broken off of my life. What God did for me he can also do for you. I want you to walk in the authority the Lord has bestowed upon you. There is so much God wants you to experience, joy, peace but most of all loving yourself as Christ loves you. It’s never too late to begin again. Shake the mat off, pick yourself off and get out of the control of others who don’t see you as Christ sees you. Leave the door mat at the front door. Stop being a people pleaser and become a God pleaser. Change is just around the corner. Go for it!
